Thursday, April 28, 2022

Thanks to the individuals and companies that help make WECA's state-of-the-art labs and comprehensive, hands-on education the best in California and Arizona.

WECA extends a huge thank you in particular to the following donors, who are the first to post numbers on our lab donation scoreboard for the 21-22 academic year!

  • Jon Lerno of Platt Electric Supply donated a cumulative $21,375 worth of welcome bags -- consisting of tools -- to WECA's Sacramento, Fresno, and Phoenix training facilities.
  • Cristian Jimenez of Milwaukee Tool donated a total of $8,428 of tools to WECA.
"I'd like to thank everyone for their generosity," says Jimmie Slemp, Lead Instructor and Lab Facilities Manager at WECA's Sacramento training facility and headquarters. "Your donations are very beneficial to our students' educational experiences; the equipment helps replicate a real-world, on-the-job experience in the classroom."

WECA was pleased to host Platt sales representative Jon Lerno in John Arias' first year, first semester Low Voltage Apprenticeship class on April 26.

Lerno presented the apprentices with Platt tool bags to welcome them to the low voltage industry. The bags contained Klein tool sets, hats, travel mugs, an Ugly's reference book, and other goodies.

Thank you for visiting, Jon! It was great to see you, and thank you for the generous gifts for our low voltage apprentices!
