Member Handbook > Board of Directors/Committees
In
order for a contractor to realize the full value of their association
membership, the WECA Board strongly encourages each new WECA
member to have a company representative (owner or key employee) attend
at least one Association event, committee meeting or Board/ATC meeting
within the first year of membership, either in person, conference call
or via video conference*. Member contractors are also strongly
encouraged to volunteer their time or a company representative's time
for continued participation in such meetings and events beyond the first
year of membership in order to provide guidance and direction into the
support and progress of the association. For information on ways to
participate in Association activities, contact the Marketing &
Communications Director at (877) 444-9322, ext. 122.
*Contact the WECA
office to inquire about utilizing the video conference system.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The direction and administration of the affairs and funds of this Association shall be vested in an elected Board of Directors, consisting of a minimum number of nine (9) and a maximum number of twelve (12), which shall have authority to act in all matters, subject to such instructions as may be given by resolution or motion passed. A majority of the Members of the Board of Directors shall be required to be present to constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any regular or special meeting of the Board. A majority vote of a quorum will be required for Board action unless otherwise provided by law or the Bylaws.

COMMITTEES
The Board of Directors establishes committees to help manage and provide advice and direction to WECA's strategic plan and daily operations. Committee appointments are open to all WECA members, who are highly encouraged to serve. An involved member reaps the benefits of being able to help set strategic direction, develop and recommend needed policies that help our Association grow and guide the direction of services that meet our members' needs.
