It's a new year and a new decade -- the perfect time for your current or potential employees to explore and pursue all the educational and career options available to them! 

Below, we've compiled a quick overview of each program for you to share with your employees and prospects -- complete with applicable resources.

Apprenticeship Programs

WECA has three state-and-federally approved Apprenticeship programs: Commercial Inside Wireman, Residential Wireman, and Low Voltage (Sound and Communication Installer: Voice Data Video and Fire Life Safety). Programs are three to five years in duration (dependent upon chosen program), and tuition costs are paid for by the Apprentice's Member Contractor.

Electrician Trainee Program

WECA's state-approved Electrician Trainee (ET) program is available to students throughout the state of California. Courses are offered online and supplemented with hands-on training in person at WECA's training facilities in Northern and Southern California. The ET program is four years in duration, and the Western Electrical Contractors Education Foundation (WECEF) periodically awards scholarships to eligible Electrician Trainees to supplement tuition costs.

Journeyman Continuing Education Program

WECA offers a wide variety of continuing education courses for Journeyman electricians. Electricians taking their continuing education with WECA can choose from self-paced or instructor-led online classes, home study DVD-based courses, and classroom courses featuring hands-on labs at WECA training facilities in Northern and Southern California.
