Apprenticeship Programs and Training Locations

WECA has three state-and-federally-approved apprenticeship programs in California: Commercial Inside Wireman, Residential Wireman, and Low Voltage (Sound and Communication Installer: Voice Data Video and Fire Life Safety).

Commercial Inside Wireman is now also an approved program in Arizona at our new Phoenix Training Facility and in Utah at our new Salt Lake City Region Training Facility.

Commercial Inside Wireman and Residential Wireman are offered at four training facilities throughout the state of California: Sacramento Region, San Diego, and Riverside, as well as our newest training facility in Fresno. Low Voltage is offered at our Sacramento Region and San Diego facilities. Our experienced instructors and established curriculum are helping to train your electrical workforce of tomorrow.

A WECA apprentice's school tuition costs are paid by the WECA Member Contractors who employ them. WECA Apprentices attend classes in an accelerated and intensive format consisting of full-time classroom training and hands-on labs for two consecutive weeks every five to seven months. Each two-week session is equal to one semester of classroom instruction.

Electrical and Low Voltage contractors must be approved to train by WECA and agree to abide by state and federal apprenticeship regulations before indenturing apprentices into one of our programs.

WECA is an Equal Opportunity Organization. The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship, shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
