Danny Whitlock Utah Class of 2025 Spotlight
Meet Danny Whitlock, WECA Utah Class of 2025 graduate and employee of WECA Member Contractor Hunt Electric!
During his time in the WECA Utah Commercial Electrical Apprenticeship Program, Danny demonstrated dedication, adaptability, and a willingness to learn both in the classroom and on-the-job with Hunt Electric’s prefabrication team. Reflecting on his experience, Danny expressed gratitude to Hunt Electric for trusting him to take initiative and make improvements that benefited the team.
“Working in prefabrication has given me a unique advantage in that I’ve been able to innovate processes, create efficiencies, and contribute to large-scale projects in ways that save time, reduce waste, and improve quality,” said Danny.
During further reflection, Danny advised WECA apprentices to “Absorb as much as you can from the classroom and in the field, ask questions, stay humble, and never stop learning. WECA is an incredible opportunity – use it to build a strong foundation now so you can excel later. And remember, the habits you form in training will follow you into your career.”
Danny plans to continue building his career with Hunt Electric while pursuing his journeyman license after graduation.
“I’ll keep applying the skills, leadership experience, and process improvements that have made an impact so far, and I’ll keep finding new ways to contribute to the company’s success,” said Danny.
Danny also acknowledged everyone who helped him during his apprenticeship, both in the classroom and out in the field.
“I’d like to thank my WECA instructor, Talon, for the incredible amount of knowledge, perspective, and skill he brought to every class. I’d also like to thank my previous leaders at Hunt Electric’s prefabrication department, such as Kyle Sheppick, Paul Scerco, Alonso Frias, and Jody Trujillo for their trust, guidance, and the opportunities they gave me to innovate and lead. And my family for their constant encouragement and support,” said Danny.
Congratulations on your graduation, Danny! We wish you the best of luck as you continue your career with Hunt Electric and in Utah’s commercial electrical industry.
