Classroom Materials

Listed below are suggested vendors for purchase of your classroom materials.

When to Place Your Orders

We encourage you to place your order 30 days before the start of your first semester class, or you may be charged extra for express shipping .

Why Order Early?
  • Avoid the last minute rush and the possibility of back order.
  • Save money, rush orders cost extra to ship.
  • Give yourself time to review the material and to prepare for class.

Due to ongoing curriculum development, the required materials for your class may change.  For a current list of materials, please contact our office at (877) 444-9322.

Coverage and Payments for Dependent Health Benefits

As a WECA Commercial Inside Wireman Apprentice, you can choose to add dependents to your health benefit coverage. If you have arranged to have your dependent(s) covered by your WECA health plan, you must pay $125 to $185* by personal or cashier's check, money order or credit card, or by automatic credit card deduction each month, for this coverage. Cash payment may also be accepted at the front counter of the WECA Sacramento Region Office only.

Payments must be received in the WECA Sacramento Region Office by the 25th of each month prior to the month of coverage. Accounts are considered late on the 26th.

If payment in full is not received by that date, his/her dependent(s) coverage will be retroactively cancelled (back to the date the first invoice became due). The Apprentice will also be financially responsible for any services used by his/her dependent(s) since the date the first invoice became due.

If an apprentice's dependent(s) coverage is cancelled, he/she must wait until the next open enrollment (normally October of each year) or the occurrence of a qualifying event AND pay all past due invoices before he/she can re-enroll his/her dependent(s).

* Current charges subject to change

Commercial apprentices that have selected their "Preferred Contact Method" as Email, will receive all correspondence related to their health insurance via email only. There will be no USPS mailed communications--only email. This includes cancellation of benefits, insufficient hour bank hours' notices, reinstatement of health benefits notices', new start benefits notices, and all future insurance related correspondence.

Hour Bank Requirements - Changes as of Dec 2015
