Fourth-year WECA apprentices in San Diego recently participated in a qualifying round in Ideal Industries' National Wiring Championships.
The Ideal championship is a "highly-charged, no-holds barred competition to determine the best electrician in North America".
In this championship, students can show off their skills, test their limits, and compete against some of the best tradesmen and women in the country.
Ideal's qualifying rounds - of which WECA apprentices in San Diego are already taking part - are held from
March 4th to October 4th, 2019. After this round, the top professional and student from each state or territory will then advance to the
championship weekend, held from November 7th through 9th, 2019, at Walt Disney World.
Winners are eligible to receive the following prizes:
1st place: $30,000
2nd place: $20,000
3rd place: $10,000
