WECA's outreach team attended multiple events this month, including an education fair at Beale Air Force Base on Wednesday, September 19th. The Education Fair was for military members, their spouses, and civilian employees. Apprenticeship Instructor Jimmie Slemp is pictured at the fair, on the left. Wendy Flanagan, Assistant Director of Apprenticeship, said, "We enjoyed the opportunity to meet with the military members that were planning for their future once they leave the service. Some were already Air Force electricians, and so we were able to discuss all of their options."
Yesterday, Curriculum Development Manager Tom Thompson promoted WECA's Apprenticeship programs at the largest solar event in North America, Solar Power International, in Anaheim, CA. The job fair was hosted by GRID Alternative and the Solar Energy Industries Association. Tom says, "It was the busiest job fair at which I've ever run a table...in three and a half hours, there were no breaks in the steady stream of job-seekers.
