WECA Recognized as Registered Apprenticeship Champion by Utah Department of Workforce Services and Apprenticeship Utah

WECA is excited to announce that we were recognized as a Registered Apprenticeship Champion in the state of Utah by the Utah Department of Workforce Services and Apprenticeship Utah.

This recognition came partly in celebration of our "Patience and resilience while working through the process of having the program recognized by the Utah Department of Commerce - Division of Professional Licensing", according to Melisa Stark, the Commissioner of Apprenticeship Programs in Utah.

The recognition was formalized at an award luncheon at the University of Utah on November 15, 2023. The luncheon also coincided with National Apprenticeship Week 2023. In attendance to accept the award were Cody Eaton of founding WECA Utah Member Contractor Hunt Electric and Trustee on the WECA Apprenticeship Training Trust Board of Trustees; Christine Hall, WECA's Director of Operations; Talon Pobuda, Apprenticeship Manager and Lead Instructor at WECA's Salt Lake City Region Training Center, and John Berkhoel, WECA's Assistant Director of Apprenticeship Training.

WECA thanks the Utah Department of Workforce Services and Apprenticeship Utah for honoring us and recognizing our enthusiasm and promotion of registered apprenticeship programs, as well as our unwavering determination to deliver premier electrical education, member services, and workforce development services to the great state of Utah.
