Blueprint Reading Part 2 (GET WIRED! 302 Commercial): Electrical Work for Commercial Construction from the Ground Up, Part 2

Recommended Prerequisite for Electrician Trainees: GET WIRED! 100 & 200 Series, & 301

Coordinate cut sheets, submittals, the NEC and more with blueprints to plan electrical installation for commercial construction.

GET WIRED! 301 and 302 take students through construction of a commercial building from underground work through construction and finish work. Students will use genuine construction plans (digital blueprints) and related documents to learn how to coordinate documents, work with other trades, and identify ways to save money through careful planning.

The GetWired! 301 and 302 courses now include a complimentary mobile tablet, yours to keep, as part of course tuition. (If you did not already receive a tablet in GetWired! 301, you will receive one as part of your enrollment in GetWired! 302.) The tablet is pre-loaded with the digital blueprint set and student resource booklet used in this course. Paper blueprint sets are no longer used in this course.

Key course subjects in GET WIRED! 302 include:
  • Public utility requirements
  • Electrical room layout
  • Floor types and planning conduit runs
  • Parking garage lighting
  • Large conduit systems and parallel conductor ampacity
  • Busway systems
  • Commercial load calculations
  • Lighting fixtures and wiring methods
  • Branch circuits and raceways
  • Electrical for elevators and water heater
  • Electrical finish work

A 2020 NEC book, a set of digital blueprints and a digital student resource booklet are required for this course.

The digital blueprints and the student resource booklet, pre-loaded on a mobile tablet, are included in the cost of the tuition. The tablet with blueprints and the student resource booklet are used for both the Blueprint Reading Part 1 and Part 2 (GET WIRED! 301 and 302) courses. If you did not already receive a tablet in GetWired! 301, you will receive one as part of your enrollment in GetWired! 302. Students who already received a tablet in GetWired! 301 do not receive a second tablet with enrollment in GetWired! 302.

WECA provides this mobile tablet, pre-loaded with the digital blueprints and the student resource booklet, to enhance your educational experience by allowing you to view and interact with the blueprints on this mobile device, just as many electricians now do in the field, while simultaneously following along with the instructor-led webcast on your primary computer.

One tablet is provided per student, whether first provided in GetWired! 301 or GetWired! 302. The tablet is included in the course tuition and is the student’s to keep. WECA cannot split the tablet and tuition costs. Additional tablets beyond the one included in course tuition may be purchased from WECA at a competitive price—contact WECA client services for current pricing.
