WECA's Outreach Team Inspires High School Students With Hands-on Electrician Examples
Led by WECA's Instructor and Lab Manager, Jimmie Slemp, student's at Rancho Cordova High School's Construction in Geometry course recently received some hands-on electrical instruction.
Designed to inspire students, and especially for those who enjoy working with their hands, it was an opportunity to get students to think through the basics of electricity and wiring. And in this case, wiring a branch circuit with duplex receptacles and a switched outlet on simulated wall framing, also known as a pony wall.
WECA's Zach Wallace, Instructor, was also on hand to help students with their wiring project. Christine Hall, Director of Operations & Business Development, talked to students about career opportunities in the electrician field as well as the education options from WECA!
