Who We Are
Western Electrical Contractors Association, Inc. (WECA), is a nonprofit organization serving merit shop electrical and low voltage contractors, their employees, and the industry suppliers that support them.
What We Do
WECA offers strong political and public affairs efforts, networking, specialized member services, training, and workforce development in an effort to achieve its goal of promoting merit shop electrical contracting as the most valuable, qualified choice for the electrical construction industry. WECA promotes workforce development for the electrical and low voltage fields across the Western United States.
In California, WECA offers federal and state-approved Commercial, Residential, and Low Voltage (Voice Data Video and Fire Life Safety) Electrical Apprenticeship programs, a state-approved Electrician Trainee program, certification exam preparation classes, and state-approved continuing education classes for journeyperson electricians and low voltage technicians.
In Arizona, WECA offers a federal and state-approved Commercial Electrical Apprenticeship program and continuing education classes for journeyperson electricians.
In Utah, WECA offers a Commercial Electrical Registered Apprenticeship that is both federally-approved and recognized by the Utah Department of Commerce, Division of Professional Licensing.
WECA additionally shares its expertise by producing curriculum products and publications for the industry.
WECA is an official Apprenticeship Ambassador with the United States Department of Labor.
