Employee Spotlight: Wendy Flanagan

Let's give Wendy Flanagan a warm welcome as one of our newest WECA team members.  In her new role as Recruiter and Workforce Coordinator, Wendy will help lead our efforts to reach out and recruit top applicants for our apprenticeship program.  You may see her at job fairs and related events where she will have the opportunity to highlight WECA as a leading industry and training resource for those interested in becoming a licensed electrician.

In addition, Wendy will focus on implementing enhancements to the New Apprentice Applicant selection procedures. For example, new apprentice applicants will experience updated tests (Basic Skills Test and a Multi-Craft Aptitude Test), and meet with interview committees trained with best practices in mind. With Wendy's help, these steps will ensure WECA accepts the most qualified applicants into the apprenticeship program. Wendy will also work with WECA contractor members and subscribers to meet their needs for qualified apprentices in their area.

"With over 20 years of experience in customer service, staffing and HR, and with organizations like The Home Depot and Payless Cashways Building Materials-Wendy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to WECA, and we're very glad to have her on board," said Christine Hall, Director of Operations.

Wendy lives in Sacramento with her husband Jon, eight-year-old son, Jon Jr.-known as JJ, and their Jack Russell Terrier, Chuck. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and staying active in her son's school as a PTA board member. She says, "I'm happy to be a part of the WECA team and look forward to contributing to its success."

She is in our Rancho Cordova office and can be reached at wflanagan@goweca.com

Welcome Wendy!
